Mingle Denver ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website mingledenver.com and organizes community events in the Denver, Colorado area. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our website or attend our events.
By using our website or providing us with your information, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Contact information — name, email address, and phone number when you join our community list, contact us, or register for events
- Profile information — city, neighborhood, relationship status, and communication preferences when you complete your member profile
- Event registration data — attendance information when you RSVP or purchase tickets through our platform or third-party services (Eventbrite, Meetup)
- Communications — messages you send us through contact forms, email, or social media
- Sponsorship inquiries — company name, contact details, and marketing goals when you submit a sponsorship inquiry
- Matchmaking applications — if you apply for matchmaking or join our matchmaking pool: your name, email, phone number, gender and who you're seeking, date of birth, height, neighborhood, occupation, education, relationship history, whether you have or want children, smoking and drinking habits, faith (optional), the age range you're looking for, your answers about yourself and your ideal partner, an optional social media link, and up to 3 photos
- Matchmaking feedback — your yes/no answers to proposed matches and your feedback after dates
- Speed dating match cards — if you play our digital speed dating game at an event: your first name, gender, email, your private ratings of each date (thumbs up or down, and "just friends"), your top 3, and the contact details you choose to share with mutual matches (phone, email and/or a social media handle)
- Schedule a Date — if you use it: your email, name, an optional dating profile (bio, interests, what you're looking for, the age range you're interested in, gender), who you allow to send you date requests, and the date requests you send or receive
- Reviews — your star rating and comments about an event, and whether you allow us to show your review on our website
- Text message consent — your mobile number and whether you checked "OK to text" when you buy tickets, join our waitlist, buy a gift card or become a member
- Sponsor and vendor orders — business name, contact details, category, logo, website link and description when you sponsor an event or book a vendor spot
- Payment information — when you buy tickets, a matchmaking consultation or package, or a photo session, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive your name, email and payment status, but never your full card number
We may also collect certain information automatically when you visit our website, including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring URLs through standard web server logs. We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, such as which pages are viewed and which event links are clicked. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information like your approximate location, device and browser type; we never send your name, email or phone number to it. When you click a sponsor's logo or link on our website, we count the click so we can report totals to that sponsor. To count each visitor once a day, we create a one-way code from your IP address and browser; we don't store your IP address, and sponsors only see totals. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Send you event announcements, newsletters, and community updates you have opted into
- Process event registrations and communicate event details
- Send SMS messages when you have provided explicit consent
- Count the Mingle Denver events you've bought on our website for our loyalty program ("your 5th event is on us") and email you your reward code
- Ask for your review after an event you attended
- Respond to your questions, comments, and requests
- Improve our events and services based on member feedback and attendance patterns
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Matchmaking
If you apply for matchmaking or join our matchmaking pool, we use your application and photos only to find and suggest matches for you and for our matchmaking clients. Here is how your information is shared:
- Your matchmaker (Saura, the founder of Mingle Denver) sees your full application, photos and feedback.
- Potential matches may see your first name, age, height, neighborhood, occupation, education, whether you have or want children, your "about me" and "ideal partner" answers, and up to 2 photos, through a private link, only when your matchmaker thinks you could be a strong fit. They never see your last name, date of birth, phone number, email, faith, dealbreakers or social media link at this stage.
- Introductions are double opt-in. Your first name, phone number and email are shared with a match only after you and they both say yes.
- Your feedback after a date is seen only by your matchmaker. It is never shown to your match.
- If you tell us you're open to being a case study, we will still ask for your permission before using your story, and you can choose to use only your first name or remain anonymous.
Matchmaking photos are stored in a private storage area. They are not public, are not used in marketing, and are viewed only through short-lived private links. Matchmaking information is never sold or shared with advertisers or sponsors.
You can pause, update, or delete your matchmaking profile and photos at any time by replying to any matchmaking email or through our contact page. Deleting your profile does not delete information already shared with a match you both said yes to.
Speed Dating Match Cards
When you join a speed dating game on your phone, the other guests see only your first name and last initial. Your ratings and your top 3 are private: no one else sees how you rated them. If you and another guest both give each other a thumbs up (or both choose "just friends"), you become a match, and each of you sees only the contact details the other chose to share. If you appear in a match's top 3, they may see that too. After the event, we may email you your matches. Your host can see who joined and how many dates each guest has rated, so we can run the event and help anyone who gets stuck.
Schedule a Date
You sign in to Schedule a Date with a one-time code we email you; we don't use passwords. You choose who can send you date requests: people who attended events you pick, or specific people by email. Other users see only your first name and last initial, your dating profile, and why you're shown to them (for example, that you were at the same event). They never see your email address unless you both agree to a date: when a date request is accepted, we email both of you the plan and each other's email address. Your speed dating matches from past events also appear in your connections, with the contact details each match chose to share.
Reviews
After some events, we may email you to ask how it went. Your review is sent to us, and we only show it on our website if you allow it and we approve it. Public reviews show only your first name and last initial, never your email. You can ask us to remove your review at any time through our contact page.
Email and SMS Communications
When you join our community list, you may opt in to receive email updates and SMS text messages about upcoming events. Message frequency varies based on our event schedule — typically two to four messages per month.
Standard message and data rates may apply to SMS messages. If you check "OK to text" when buying tickets or signing up, we may text you about that event and future Mingle Denver events, including if you started buying a ticket and didn't finish. You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message we send or by asking us to stop. You may unsubscribe from emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every email.
